How to judge roofing work
A roof is the one system that protects every other part of a building, which is why the way a contractor inspects matters more than the brochure. A thorough look covers flashing, penetrations, valleys and decking — not just the field of shingles — because that is where water actually finds its way in.
Roof lifespan depends more on installation quality and attic ventilation than on the material alone. Poor ventilation cooks shingles from underneath, and incorrect nailing patterns void many manufacturer warranties. The useful questions to ask any roofer are about process and sequence, not only price.
| Material | Typical lifespan | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Asphalt shingle | 15–30 years | Most common; ventilation strongly affects service life |
| Metal | 40–70 years | Standing seam generally outlasts exposed-fastener panels |
| Clay or concrete tile | 50–100 years | Underlayment usually needs renewal sooner than the tile |
| Slate | 75–150 years | Weight requires adequate framing capacity |
| Single-ply membrane (flat) | 20–30 years | Seams and terminations are the usual failure points |
What customers say
They gave a very thorough inspection and have submitted to insurance for hail damage. Not surprisingly insurance has turned down the claim. Triumph resent the photos and were very precise in describing the hail damage and how it will affect the performance of the roof during rain. We are way to hear back. I am very impressed with there integrity! Austin has done a great job keeping me up to date on the situation!! Great job Austin!

Call (602) 935-8484Triumph Roofing removed the older concrete tiles, replaced the damaged plywood/fascia and new installed new Ultra Synthetic underlayment. They brought the house up to code by adding the bird-stop and trim on the edges of the rounded tiles. They worked quickly and efficiently and completed the job during the hot June weather. The before and after pictures, as well as pictures of the progress kept me up to date with the progress of the new roof.
